coL.cs to Play 1.6

coL.cs to play 1.6

The Syndicate is thrilled to announce that we can confirm the rumors about coL.cs playing 1.6. Over the remaining months of 2008, we have decided to allow the squad to participate in both 1.6 and CS:Source events.

First and foremost, we'd like to let the coL Community know that we are doing this for FUN and have no false illusions of domination in 1.6 after not touching the game for 1.5 years. Our players love and respect 1.6, and want to play it as often as possible, but our professional careers dictate that we focus more on CS:Source. Thus, look forward to some good old fashion coL.cs 1.6 action, but please understand we are playing for fun and it'd be foolish to expect to see the coL.cs magic from 2004-2006.

We're very excited about the opportunity to play 1.6 competitively again. We'll be participating in the WCG online qualifiers and most likely CEVO for 1.6 and CS:S. We encourage the coL Community to follow along and cheer on the team, but understand we're doing this for fun and the love of the game. We have no expectations of beating the strong 1.6 teams of 2008, but we'll give it one heck of a compLexity try.

Thanks for your support!!

Its nice to hear that you'll be playing a game you love for fun and I would love to see you back in 1.6, but I'm worried that after a season that wasn't quite up to expectations that playing another game competitively will affect your performance in source. Both games have a different feel to one another and going back and forth between the two could hurt your performance in both. If we see that 1.6 is affecting your performance in source can we trust that you'll make the right decision and focus solely on source?

Anyways best of luck with 1.6 and source!

Um, i have no clue but this brings me questions like....

Wasn't "AZN" or something from 3D kicked from CGS for breaking the contract by playing 1.6?

i dont really know the full story on that and u can correct me if i'm wrong. But i guess it'll be cool for all the other players to see the old complexity in 1.6. Hope they have fun! Guess they'res gonna be more CS:S & CS 1.6 Demo's in the demo folder eh?

aZn was fined i think $6000 and fired from the cgs for playing in a 1.6 tournament with his friends. This was when the cgs forbid any contact with 1.6
