Wall Street Journal on GameBoys

Posted by: aMies

Pete Hausler from the Wall Street Journal has recentely published his review on the Michael Kane book, GameBoys, that followed both Team3D and CompLexity around the country to understand what it was like to be a professional gamer. Below is a quote from the article:
Mr. Lake, or "Jake," as his team affectionately refers to him, is by far the most complex personality in the book. His belief that gaming will go big-time is so unshakable that during the two years covered in the story, Mr. Lake ponies up approximately $400,000 of his own money in order to sponsor his team. In the short term, he hopes that his team can challenge Team 3D for bragging rights and prize money. In the long term, he wants CompLexity on top of the Counter-Strike world at the moment when -- or if -- professional gaming lands lucrative television contracts and sponsorship deals.

it is most important book about games and professional gamers and I can't have it ;(

When fate throws a dagger at you, there are only 2 ways to catch it: by the blade or by the handle.

And as the finishing touch, God created the Dutch.
