RIP: David "Taikou" Piatt

Posted by: aMies

R.I.P
The Los Angeles compLexity is sad to announce the death of our DOA-M Taxi player, David "Taikou" Piatt. Piatt passed away this past Tuesday, October 7th. The cause of death is still unknown. Our prayers go out to David's family and friends as they endure this tragedy. Below is what aknoN at DOA Central had to say:

I didn't really know where to say this, or how to say it.

Yesterday a titan of the professional DOA scene, a close training partner, and someone I considered a very good friend, was lost. David "Taikou" Piatt passed away Tuesday October 7th. I recieved a text message from a close personal friend of the family via David's cell phone tonight, relaying the sad news of David's passing. I called back the friend and she verified that in fact David has passed away.

For more information, someone will be available at his previous cell phone number (IM me if needed) to answer questions and relay messages to the Piatt family. The funeral service will be held Saturday in Seattle at Northview Comm. Church at 2:00pm PST.

We remember David both here, and in our hearts, for what he was, and what he hoped for.

Though our time together was brief, you made a lasting impression on this world. You've taught me alot and will be greatly missed and remembered, friend.

My condolences.

Taikou was kind of like a CGS rival for me since we played at both Combines and in both online qualifiers.

R.I.P. Taikou.

Sad to hear, even though I hadn't known much about him. Condolences to his family and friends.
