Peawok’s Daily CGS Predictions
Written By: Michael “Peawok” Fleming
Hey everyone. It’s not going very well for me, as some may or may not know. I’m stuck in a slump, with only one solid day of predictions in nearly a week. If I don’t do well again this today, I’m sitting at 5-10 (or something absurd like that – I stopped counting) for the week.
And of course, my triumphant return to “master of predictions” has to start Forza 2. Also known as “the most equally talented and random game of them all!”. Exciting stuff, huh? You can bet on that one. Ahh well.
It’s been a long weekend, so to recap, here are the scores from last Thursday:
Chicago Chimera > Carolina Core 12-6
New York 3D > Dallas Venom 10-8
San Francisco Optx > Complexity LA 11-7
Record: 0-3
Overall Record: 21-21
Chicago looked extremely solid. Of course, Carolina isn’t trying – it’s “practice”. In my opinion, if you’re that bad in practice…ouch. Core looked a bit better, but overall they aren’t the team they were before. Note to self: Don’t predict Core to win. Note to you: Pham’s playing incredible and deserves a spot on a team.
New York is finally getting back to where they once were, and Dallas is still on the rocks with me – and not in a nice alcoholic beverage kind of way. They are playing mediocre at the moment, and I think their new players aren’t playing up to their potential. They probably won’t make any player trades, so I can’t wait to see how well they do, or don’t do, on LAN.
As the coL vs. Optx game was going on, I was happy. Till the second half, that is. I don’t know how coL goes from a 7-0 lead to a 11-7 finish. In the words of Forest Gump, “It happens.” That’s all I can really say. Optx looks incredible and Griff also stood out to me. I think he could find his way on a team like Dallas, but I don’t think JaX will switch his team
So yup, sadly it was another goose egg for me. And that magic 8Ball didn’t do anything for me. Guess it’s back to banging my head against the table and picking the team that’s less fuzzy! And with how random Forza is, I best pray to the predictions gods. Here’s what they told me:
Chicago Chimera vs. Carolina Core
Chicago hasn’t really played as well as they did last season, but there have been many changing conditions. A new game, online play, a much closer division – you know, lots of “stuff”. I don’t think they will be the dominant force they were last season, but they should be much better that they were last season.
Carolina comes into this match as a “so-so” team for me. I don’t think they will be the best, nor the worst; They’re in the middle. They will put up a good match against Chicago, but I think JasonX and Ch0mpr will finally fix their problem and get a win.
Chicago wins, 5-2
Dallas Venom vs. New York 3D
My two favorite teams finally go head to head. Dallas was my top selection going into preseason, but I’ve really turned my attention to 3D. However, they are still a dominant force and will likely place well at the end of the season. So far, they’ve done pretty well. They both are fast racers and have good teamwork, so they should find a way to handle 3D.
As stated before, I love 3D at the moment. They both are fast and have great teamwork. What I love about them though is that they can win two ways; They can out race you, or out crash you. They are the definition of “double threat”, but going up against Dallas, I can’t really decide a winner. I’ll just say this – I love muffins.
Dallas wins (and I get a muffin), 4-3
CompLexity LA vs. San Francisco Optx
With the franchise match locked up, Jason probably isn’t pushing his guys to “win…or die”. Still though, he will want them to do extremely well to bring the score close. If the team is down, Jake will look to the Forza guys for a few necessary points. They are good racers with good teamwork, but I don’t think they will be in the top two at the end of the season.
San Francisco have really surprised me. Miximup and Sackamonjaro (I spell it right?) have really impressed me so far. Kat may have not made the mistake I thought she did. Still though, I don’t see them as a top two team. I expect Optx and coL to have the most random of races, but I think coL will get across the finish line first more often than Optx. That’s not to say coL will be better overall – I think they just will beat Optx more often. coL takes this one on a nice GTO crash (It’s weird calling a crash “nice”, by the way…).
coL wins, 4-3
That’s it, everyone. Hopefully I turn my record around. See you Tuesday.
im going to take
optix over col
dallas over 3d
and for the upset
core over chicago
