PG2: EG on De_Dust2

Posted by: jlake02

Post Game

After coming off of a loss to 50Calibre in their last match, the squad was set to face off against the hot Team EG in a match that everyone has been waiting for. CompLexity started the match off on De_Dust2 as the Counter-Terrorists, with EG as on the Terrorist side. The team was able to open things off huge with an impressive pistol round win, but EG would answer back by winning the next three rounds with help from their star player n0thing. After that three round win, compLexity was able to grab one more but, like their first win this only fueled EG even more, with them getting the next two rounds. From here, compLexity was able to grab their last round of the half with the help of both Hanes and Warden. EG would go on to win the remaining rounds, and the half, 12-3.

Switching sides, compLexity started to show some strength on T side, grabbing the first three rounds. From there, the two teams traded rounds which gave EG the match 16-8.

UPDATE: The match has been moved back to 11 EST by EG's request.

Pre-Game

For their Week 2-2 match in CEVO's 1.6 Professional Division, the squad will now be going up against one of the top 1.6 teams in North America right now, Team EG. While this may be happening a bit too soon, this is the match that everyone has been waiting for since the day compLexity first announced they'd be back to 1.6. In the current North American 1.6 scene, many consider EG to be the team to beat, so this will be the past vs. the present.

With a 1-2 record so far, though, the compLexity Counter-Strike team is definitely not doing as expected, even with them not practicing as much as they'd like. So far, their performances in 1.6 have been disappointing with their only win against Devastation, though that was with an impressive 16-4 score. They also lost two close ones to both x3o and 50Calibre by the same score, 12-16.

While they did lose their last match, the more time compLexity has with 1.6 is better for them because it gives them more time to practice and get back to what they once were in the game. With this, I'm confident that compLexity will be coming into this one as prepared as they can get, though having to constantly sub S0ck in for Warden won't benefit the team's consistency at all. Still, even while they're not at their best, compLexity has proven that they can always be a threat, and with EG recently losing to Devastation, the outcome of this match isn't set in stone just yet.

The coL.cs squad plays EG tonight!. The match time is 11:00 PM EST. Scorebot is in #compLexity. HLTV will be posted soon. We'll also stream the match live on coLTV, so stay tuned!
